Review Guidelines

GATE Press aims to provide high-quality and influential academic publications. We also recognize the importance of peer review in ensuring the quality of publications. Therefore, GATE Press has established a rigorous peer-review policy. All manuscripts submitted will follow a strict double-blind peer review process. Reviewers and authors will remain anonymous throughout the process, with peer review comments not being made public.

Reviewers' responsibilities

1. Any manuscript received for review will be treated as confidential document;

2. Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors;

3. Reviews should be conducted objectively, and observations should be formulated clearly with supporting arguments, so that authors can use them for improving the paper;

4. Reviewers should inform the editors on any substantial similarity between the manuscript under consideration and any other published paper;

5. Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the papers. In case of editors as manuscript authors, editors shall not review and process their own academic paper. Submitted manuscripts written by editors will be assigned to at least two independent outside reviewers. Decisions will be made by other Editorial Board Members who do not have conflicts of interests with the author.

6. We thank all our reviewers for their long-standing support, their effort and time in evaluating the  manuscripts.  The peer-review process improves the scientific merit and presentation quality for better comprehension by readers.

7. GATE Press identifies potential reviewers based on author recommendation and references.

8. GATE Press conducts peer review on supplementary materials.

Reviewers’ peer review process

  1. Reviewers should check whether the title and content is within the scope of the journal.
  2. All the sections within the manuscript such as title, abstract, key words, methods and conclusions are consistent with the objective of the paper.
  3. The methodology is clear and scientific. The analytical and statistical methods are relevant to the study. The conclusions are supported by the data and analysis. The references adequately represent the data and interpretations are up to date without missing of key citable information.

While conflicts of interests will not disqualify you from reviewing the manuscript, it is important to disclose all conflicts of interest to the editors before reviewing. If you have any questions about potential conflicts of interests, please do not hesitate to contact the receiving editorial office.

All articles that have been accepted for publication will be deemed to have completed the peer review process. Before publication online, manuscripts will undergo text editing, layout editing, and proofreading. Authors will receive proofs for review and verification.
